Victor Rountree
Victor is a retired United States Air Force Chief Master Sergeant with over 30 years of service. Victor was deployed to the Middle East after 9/11 under Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, where he served our country and fought to protect our freedoms. Years later, Victor was appointed as Budget Officer at Offutt Air Force Base, where he supported multiple deployments and operations through detailed financial management and budgeting. Victor will bring the financial experience and service that our Legislature needs.
He has continued his commitment to community service through his 12 years as a Senior Pastor and where he and his congregation donate school supplies to Betz Elementary School in Bellevue.
Victor has an extensive educational background. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland and the US Air Force Chief Master Sergeant Leadership Course. Victor has been recognized with the Air Force Organization of Excellence Award and is a decorated veteran.
He and his wife Cheryl have been married for 41 years and have three children, their son-in-law, and one grandchild.
"My entire life has been dedicated to serving my country and community, from protecting our nation overseas, to aiding with local disaster recovery in FEMA, to substitute teaching in our local Elementary Schools. I’m running for Legislature to continue that service to Nebraskans and bring people together on common-sense solutions. Nebraskans have never been strangers to hard work and giving back to their communities, that’s why I’m on the campaign trail- to create a government that works for our hard-working people."
Our campaign is supported by grassroots donations that help us reach every voter before election day.
Valuations, property taxes, and our tax system is not working for Nebraskans. We must prioritize efficiency and balance the budget to keep more of your hard-earned money in your pockets. As an accounting major and Budget Officer at Offutt Air Force Base, Victor has the financial expertise to get the job done.
Our hard-working Nebraskans deserve to be able to provide for their families and themselves so they can thrive, not just survive. The cost of everything has risen and our government must act to promote strong job opportunities and lower the cost of living. Victor will fight to keep Nebraska affordable and promote economic freedom and opportunity.
Rising medical and insurance costs have placed a financial burden on Nebraskans and their families. Victor will work to decrease costs and expand access to healthcare so that our government takes care of the people it serves.
Victor believes that all children should be given every opportunity to succeed. He knows that our schools and teachers are the backbone of our community and our state’s future. Victor will advocate for affordable early childhood and post-graduate educational opportunities so that our children are set up for success. He’s proud to be the only candidate supported by Nebraska’s teachers.
As a veteran, Victor knows that one of the government's most important jobs is keeping our community safe. Victor will support our first responders, active military, and veterans and understands that they need adequate resources to effectively do their jobs.
Victor knows that integrity and honesty are inherent parts of the Nebraska way of life. He believes that Nebraskans deserve honest leadership and will work to bring people together and come alongside our neighbors.
